Influencer Spotlight: An Interview with Tommy DiDario

It is hard to say what Tommy DiDario is best known for. As a model, actor, entrepreneur, and lifestyle writer, Tommy’s diverse array of expertise distinguishes him as an unrivaled voice on social networks. The New Jersey native and New York City resident is the CEO of his own marketing and brand consulting company. His clients include brands and individuals in the fashion, wellness, beauty, and restaurant industries. Pulse has had the pleasure of working with Tommy on multiple campaigns and recently spoke with him to learn more about his background, hobbies, and long-term goals.

Tommy defines himself as “a guy who adores his friends, family, and husband.” This is evident in his writing, as he shares sincere accounts of important moments in his personal life and the world around him. Tommy refrains from perfection and inauthentic content curation. He notes, “If I am away on vacation in Hawaii, I’m posting photos from there. If I am celebrating my one-year wedding anniversary, I’m posting about how happy and lucky I feel to have found the love of my life. If something is going on in this world that I want to speak out against, then I will [write about it]”. When asked about the objectives of his blog and role as an influential social media figure he stated, “A big mission of mine is to promote acceptance, love, and being good to yourself.” With over 1 million impressions reached on social media each month, it is clear that his message is  being well received.

When we asked Tommy to recall his favorite social media campaign, he has no doubts: “I did a campaign with GQ and Lands’ End that I will never forget!” The campaign began with Tommy flying out to the Hamptons in a Blade helicopter. He then was filmed via a drone surfing in Montauk, sporting Lands’ End gear. “It was my first time surfing so I was really excited to stand on the board and catch some waves – and after 30 minutes, I was able to! It was such a rush and I have to say, I can’t wait to surf again!”

Tommy is always game for trying new activities and traveling to new places, although Paris remains his favorite city in the world. “[Paris] is where I got engaged. I find that city so magical and beautiful.” Not far behind on his list of favorites is Rome, perhaps an ode to his Italian roots. “Being Italian, I love my family's culture, so it's nice to visit the homeland.” Stateside, Hawaii takes the cake for his favorite destination. “The dream is to someday have a house there!” he exclaims. “There's such an energy there that makes you feel so alive. The towering nature all around you makes you feel so small. It's humbling and exhilarating all at the same time.”

When he is not writing for his blog, modeling, or traveling, Tommy spends his time on a “secret” passion of his: screenwriting. He tells us, “I'm currently working on a comedy that has the same type of humor as ‘Bridesmaids’. A lot of people don’t realize that I am a complete goofball, so writing this project has been a blast. The big goal is to turn this script into a film!” As a lover of Wes Craven’s films, he even wrote a screenplay for a horror film, which he hopes to see on the big screen in the future.

With so much going on in his life, Tommy asserts that his favorite aspect of being a social media influencer is the ability to connect with people from all over the world. He notes, “Along with the lifestyle content, being able to have a conversation with people about positivity and acceptance means the world to me. I try to be a big advocate for the LGBTQ community and I receive so many notes and emails weekly from people saying that they never thought they could have a successful career, a stable life with family and friends, a loving marriage, and even find happiness in life. It means a lot to me that I can show people out there that love is love.”

Tommy’s passion for mental and physical health and wellness manifests on his social media pages, where he aims to create a space for his followers to feel informed and accepted, in addition to enjoying themselves.Tommy notes,

“The world is heavy, and while I take the time to address social issues, I also like that people can come to my page and escape with a great outfit of the day, story about my travels, silly Insta story video, or great new recipe to try. The balance is important. Above anything, I like to show people that what they see, is what they get. ”
