We asked Ruta a few questions to learn more about how she started in the influencer world, her favorite campaigns and more!
How did you get started in the influencer world?
Since I was little, I always knew that I wanted to relate my future with creative industries, however, being from a country with only 3 million people (Lithuania), I had never taken blogging seriously. I think this changed completely when I moved to London to study fashion. It inspired me a lot and made me fall in love with the industry!
And what made you want to become an influencer?
It happened very naturally — I was definitely never seeking to be one. When I started my blog, I didn’t even know that there was a possibility for it to become my career. I was doing it because of my big passion for styling outfits & taking pictures and I’m very happy that I never doubted myself.
How would you define your style?
To be honest, my style is always changing (depending on the city, weather & my mood in general). However, I would say right now it’s city chic/romantic with a touch of edge!
What is your go-to outfit?
High-waisted mom jeans, beige & super soft sweater, my personalized sneakers, and a statement bag. Pretty basic, I know!
How do you choose which brands to collaborate with and what is one of your favorite campaigns you’ve done so far?
I feel that I know myself and my personal style pretty well by now and I always try to analyze my audience before working with any brand / see if that collaboration brings any value and inspiration for people who follow me.
My favorite projects I’ve been working on so far are definitely the ones with KARL LAGERFELD. I feel so lucky to work with a brand founded by such an iconic designer. If you would have told me that a few years ago, I would have never believed it!
What’s been the most notable change since you’ve become an Influencer?
For me personally, it’s seeing the whole fashion industry from the inside. I feel very lucky to connect with designers, founders, agencies and other inspiring and very talented people. There’s always something new to learn and it inspires me every single day.
What would be your advice to potential influencers?
I would say take time to find yourself. For some people, it might take a few months, for some a few years, but it’s only a matter of time. I feel that once you are 100% comfortable with your own style and the way you present yourself, people will notice that too!
