We will also be participating in the restoration of the kelp forest in Palos Verdes, California.<\/p>\n<p>Together with SeaTrees, we are preserving, planting and protecting coastal ecosystems.\u00a0Did you know that 90% of all carbon in the global carbon cycle is stored in the ocean? Or that mangrove forests are up to 5x more effective at storing carbon compared to tropical forests? This is where carbon should be sequestered to begin to reverse climate change. SeaTrees, a Sustainable Surf initiative, focuses on restoring the coastal ecosystems that facilities the oceans to act as a carbon sink by absorbing and removing CO<sub>2<\/sub>\u00a0from the atmosphere.<\/p>\n<p>These measures improve water quality, support biodiversity, offer local islands protection from rising sea levels and storm surges, and create economic opportunities for local communities.
