Twitter becomes X, the "Everything App"
Twitter takes on Threads, Mastodon and other rivals with its rebrand to X
July 27, 2023
It’s all everyone’s talking about: as of Monday, Twitter has officially become “X”. While Twitter’s brand colors currently remain, the platform has a new logo and many more changes are to come.
Elon Musk’s vision for X involves turning it into a comprehensive super-app, similar to WeChat which is used in China for everything from banking to watching videos to ordering food.
There would be interest in a WeChat-style app from the European market; if X becomes this style of platform, it could lead to new ways of advertising for your brand.
However, users may not stick around for X’s growth, with conversation-app Threads gaining traction and user numbers soaring for Twitter-alternative Mastodon since X’s rebrand kicked in.
